Home inspector in North York
Pre-purchase, pre-listing, new-home and condo inspections in North York, by a carpenter with 17 years in GTA construction.
Homes in North York
North York is full of post-war bungalows and side-splits from the 1950s and 1960s, many of them now being renovated or replaced by large custom homes, plus condo towers along Yonge Street and around Sheppard.
What I often look at here
- Original 1950s and 1960s systems: galvanized supply pipes, cast-iron drains, older electrical panels and ungrounded outlets.
- Additions and second storeys: how they tie into the original structure, roof transitions and flashing.
- New custom homes: big roofs with many valleys, multiple HVAC zones, walk-out basements and Tarion coverage when it applies.
- Condos on Yonge and Sheppard: unit systems, windows, balcony doors and anything that looks like a building-wide issue.
